Profile of Dr. Chinelo Josephine Ezekulie

Dr. Chinelo Josephine Ezekulie is a seasoned academic with over 14 years of university-level teaching, currently holding the position of Reader (Associate Professor) in the Department of English at the University of Jos. With a strong academic background, including a PhD in English Language from the University of Jos (2018), an MA in English & Literary Studies from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (2008), and a BA in Education/English from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (1996), she exemplifies expertise in English syntax, phonetics, phonology, stylistics, and pragmatics.

Her distinguished career spans various institutions, including the University of Jos, NTA TV College (Affiliated to ABU, Zaria), and Redemption College of Education, Aba. Engaging in academic and administrative roles, she served as the Undergraduate Project Coordinator at NTA TV College and held the position of Faculty of Arts Representative for Social Sciences at the University of Jos.

 

Dr. Ezekulie actively contributes to her field, being a member of professional bodies such as the Reading Association of Nigeria, English Scholars’ Association of Nigeria, Pragmatics Association of Nigeria, and the African Council for Communication Education. Beyond academia, her commitment to societal impact is evident through her advocacy for gender equity, youth empowerment, and support for the aged. Serving as a valuable board member at the Rosana Empowerment Foundation (REF), she extends her influence beyond the academic realm, embodying a force for positive change and empowerment.
