Rosana Empowerment Foundation (REF) works across Nigeria to improve lives through community-driven programmes focused on health advocacy, education support, women and youth empowerment, and environmental sustainability.

Our interventions are designed to strengthen vulnerable communities, promote equal opportunities, and create sustainable pathways for social and economic development.

Health Advocacy & Community Outreach

Promoting preventive healthcare, cancer awareness, and community health education across underserved populations. 👉 Cervical, Breast & Prostate health awareness

Women Empowerment & Youth Development

Equipping women and youth with practical skills, mentorship, and entrepreneurship support, as well as leadership development for economic independence.

Girl Child Education

Supporting out-of-school children through scholarships, advocacy, and education access programmes.

Community Outreach

Delivering grassroots humanitarian support, awareness campaigns, and social development interventions.

Environmental Sustainability & Livelihood Development

Restoring Ecosystems. Strengthening Communities.

REF promotes environmental sustainability through tree planting, soil restoration, organic farming, and climate-smart agriculture to restore ecosystems and strengthen rural livelihoods.

Tree Planting & Environmental Restoration

REF implements community-led tree planting and conservation activities that restore degraded environments, protect biodiversity, and build climate resilience. Through awareness campaigns and reforestation efforts, REF encourages communities to protect and sustain natural resources.

Soil Restoration & Organic Agriculture Support

REF promotes organic soil restoration and climate-smart farming to improve soil fertility, increase agricultural productivity, and strengthen food systems. In collaboration with PalmGate Global Ventures Ltd, Vitufel Global Ventures Inc., and SkyDNews Network, REF implements sustainable agriculture programmes across Bauchi, Gombe, and Imo States.

Nutrition & Food Security

REF supports sustainable food systems by improving soil health, promoting organic farming, and increasing awareness of the link between nutrition and environmental wellbeing. In partnership with CS-SUNN (Civil Society Scaling Up Nutrition in Nigeria), REF strengthens community nutrition and food security initiatives across underserved communities.

Environmental Objectives

REF is committed to combating deforestation and environmental degradation while restoring soil health to support sustainable agriculture. The organization works to improve food security and nutrition through community-driven initiatives, promote climate-smart farming practices that protect natural resources, and strengthen rural livelihoods by empowering communities with sustainable environmental and agricultural solutions.

REF envisions communities where ecosystems are restored and protected, agriculture is both sustainable and productive, and families have reliable access to improved nutrition and dignified livelihoods. It is a future where communities take active responsibility for protecting their environment while building resilience and long-term wellbeing for generations to come.

Building Stronger and Healthier Communities

Across many communities in Nigeria, vulnerable populations continue to face challenges related to healthcare access, education, gender inequality, poverty, and limited opportunities for development.

REF exists to help bridge these gaps by empowering individuals, amplifying voices, supporting community resilience, and promoting sustainable solutions that improve lives and strengthen communities.

Voices of Change Initiative

Rosana Empowerment Foundation (REF), in partnership with CSACEFA (Civil Society Action Coalition on Education for All), brings hope alive in the education sector through advocacy, awareness creation, and community engagement, strengthening inclusive education access, empowering stakeholders, and driving sustainable learning outcomes across underserved communities.

Save the Children Initiative

Supporting vulnerable children through advocacy, education assistance, protection services, and community engagement initiatives that promote wellbeing, safeguard rights, and improve access to learning opportunities. REF’s orphanage visit in Gombe strengthened child protection awareness and inspired renewed support for sustainable child development.

Community Health Outreach Programmes

Rosana Empowerment Foundation (REF) organizes community-based awareness campaigns, sensitization exercises, and outreach interventions promoting preventive healthcare, early detection, and healthy living. Activities in Birshi Gandu (Bauchi State) and Tumfure (Gombe State) strengthened health awareness, improved participation, and enhanced public wellbeing outcomes through sustained grassroots engagement.

Real Change in Communities

Through partnerships, advocacy, outreach programmes, and grassroots engagement, REF continues to support communities and strengthen opportunities for vulnerable populations across Nigeria.

📍 Birshi Gandu, Bauchi State

REF conducted health outreach and empowerment programmes that improved awareness, increased community participation, and expanded access to support services for women, youth, and children. This intervention strengthened public health understanding and encouraged greater involvement in community development initiatives. Outcome: Increased community health awareness and stronger engagement in development programmes.

📍 Tumfure, Gombe State

REF implemented girl child education advocacy programmes aimed at reducing dropout rates and encouraging families to prioritize education for vulnerable and underserved children. The initiative strengthened community understanding of the value of inclusive education and long-term development. Outcome: Improved school support and increased awareness of girl child education.

📍 Bauchi Communities

REF delivered vocational training and empowerment programmes that equipped women and youth with practical skills for self-reliance. These initiatives enhanced livelihood opportunities and supported long-term economic independence within participating communities. Outcome: Improved income opportunities and strengthened economic independence.
